Screen capturing, both video and images (and sound), is something I do now and then. The right tool makes my life better. For movies I have used SnapzProX (see also this posting) and for images the built in mac stuff or the Dashboard widget Screenshot Plus. Jing (both video and images) is another (free) alternative. Another one is ScreenFlow ($99). It seems to be feature rich and a productive tool, and it got a very good review from Matt Neuburg at TidBITS. But it ain't free. Screensteps ($40 standard and $60 pro, but provides lower [$10] academic pricing) has an different approach. The focus is to create a lesson based on a series of screen captures (images). And finally, tuaw.com has an article that compares the different screenshot applications for Mac (but it doesn't include Jing, ScreenFlow and Screensteps). [via, via, via]
Update: ScreenFlow seems to get a lot of fans.
