Google App Engine

April 23, 2008  |  web, software  |  not published
The Google App Engine can be used to run your web applications on Google's infrastructure. Currently only a limited (500MB of persistent storage and about 5 million page views a month) free service is available, and at the moment it is a wait list. Later you will be able to buy additional computing resources. But if you want to experiment with this platform you do not have to wait for available space in Google App Engine preview release. You can download the SDK (Windows, Mac and Linux) and start implementing and testing your web applications on your desktop computer. What Is Google App Engine? is a nice introduction.
It even supports Django. Check out these Google App Engine Articles.

Update: The App Engine Launcher for Mac OS X is a project mananger/IDE for Google App Engine client work.
