I had a Vista laptop that I needed to run XP on occasionally. The How to dual boot Vista and XP (with Vista installed first) — the step-by-step guide with screenshots gave me some tips, but I didn't use the command line tool (DISKPART) to shrink the original Vista partition. I used the Vista Disk managment tool (under Administrative Tools in System and Maintanence section of the Control Panel select «Create and format hard disk partitions»).
