Command line software updates on your Mac

This I didn't know about: Install software updates from the command line. Try this in your terminal window: 

  man softwareupdate
If you just want to do it (install the updates at command line, that is), type this: 

  sudo softwareupdate -i -a
(If you are an administrative user.)
